Tom has almost 10 years experience in the brewing industry, culminating in 2 years as head brewer at The Wig and Pen microbrewery in Canberra at the end of his PhD. Tom has a Bachelor of Science (majoring in Cell and Molecular Biology), a PhD in Medicine and is currently a postdoctoral fellow with the Priority Research Centre for Stroke at the Hunter Medical Research Institute. His current research involves validating a new neuro-imaging device, investigating biomarkers in stroke and testing interventions to enhance stroke recovery.
