This Acrylic Paint course aims to guide participants through a series of practical and creative exercises with each developing their own original illustration. This course is delivered as a practical, hands-out workshop that includes group discussion of participants work.

Professional illustrators and artists develop their skills over their entire careers. Aspiring illustrators can gain substantial benefit from learning a proven art process from an illustrator with decades of experience. Receiving practical advice, seeing a demonstration and undertaking an interesting and versatile acrylic paint on prepared paper art process will assist aspiring illustrators in the development of their art practice. Using examples of the instructor’s published work, the versatility of the process is discussed. Prepared paper on board is a light, durable and portable working surface adaptable for a wide range of painting techniques. Once removed from the board the prepared paper can be scanned before being stored or shipped for publication. During this hands-on workshop each participant is provided with a re-usable plywood board and cut-to-size piece of watercolour paper. There is a demonstration of each step of the art process and assistance for participants with each preparing and then working on their own board to create an original illustration.
